Helping Children Become Confident, Joyful Readers at Home

One strategy I use daily is collaborative vocabulary learning. When we introduce a new vocabulary word, I present it on a vocabulary card and invite students to work together to figure out the meaning using context clues, prior knowledge, and discussion.
