Below are our Teacher and Support Staff Team Members of the month. Teacher of the Year Mr. Matthew Migliazza We are thrilled to celebrate Matthew Migliazza, affectionately known as Mr. M, as UCP Pine Hills' Teacher of the Year. In his inaugural year at our school, Mr. M quickly became known for his dedication to and innovation in education. As a first-grade teacher, he has fostered a love for learning and cultivated a deeper connection to nature among his students. Mr. M is renowned as the "plant guy" for his tireless efforts in establishing and nurturing our campus garden, where he teaches his students the importance of responsibility and care through hands-on gardening experiences. Before joining UCP Pine Hills, Mr. M served in rural Mississippi as part of Teach for America, where he honed his skills in creating engaging learning environments tailored to diverse student needs. Here at UCP Pine Hills, he has continued to excel, particularly in developing fundamental reading skills in a manner that is both positive and relatable to his young learners. Mr. M's commitment to his students' growth and well-being, both academically and personally, exemplifies the values of our school community. We are incredibly proud to have Mr. M on our team and congratulate him on this well-deserved recognition as Teacher of the Year. Team Member of the Year Ms. Regina Nguyen With great pride and gratitude, we honor Ms. Regina Nguyen as our UCP Pine Hills Team Member of the Year for 2025–2026! Ms. Nguyen is the heart of our campus—serving as the School-Based Therapy Supervisor, she does far more than support students’ speech and language development. She’s a cornerstone of our school community, leading the morning news crew, contributing to every school-wide event, and giving her whole heart to the growth and success of every student. Ms. Nguyen’s journey at UCP Pine Hills is a testament to her unwavering dedication. She began her Panther journey as a volunteer, transitioned to an Instructional Assistant Teacher, then advanced to a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA), and now proudly serves in a leadership role as our Therapy Manager. Over her time at UCP Pine Hills, she has continuously grown alongside our students, always rising to meet the needs of our school. She is a shining example of what it means to be #TrulyAPanther—steadfast, compassionate, involved, and always putting students first. Her commitment, positivity, and passion impact everyone lucky enough to work with her. Utilizing technology and art allows Bailes Community Academy to target a student’s learning on an individual level and create an inclusive learning environment where everyone can learn! INTENT TO RETURN 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR & BACK TO SCHOOL FORMS One required form to confirm your child’s return and complete Back-to-School information. DEADLINE: February 1, 2026 Start the Form Now Why This Form Matters Secure Your Child’s Enrollment Completing the form reserves your child’s spot for the 2026–2027 school year. 1 Save Time With One Easy Step Intent to Return and Back-to-School forms are combined in a single process, so you don’t fill out multiple forms. 2 Keep Your Child’s Information Up to Date Update emergency contacts, medical info, and other required details in one place, helping the campus plan and keep your child safe. 3 How to Complete the Form Log in to the SchoolMint Parent Portal Select your child Complete the Intent to Return & Back-to-School form Submit It only takes a few minutes COMPLETE the Form Now FAQ / Common Questions 01 What is Intent to Return and Back-to-School? Intent to Return lets your campus know whether your child will be returning for the next school year. Back-to-School forms include important updates such as emergency contacts, medical information, and other required documents. Completing both helps secure your child’s spot and ensures the school has the most up-to-date information. 02 What if I do not see my child in the Parent Portal? Complete a Child Search in SchoolMint using: Student’s full name Date of birth Student ID ⚠️ This may happen if Back-to-School forms for the 2025–2026 school year have not yet been completed. If you don’t know your student ID – contact your campus or send us an email at SchoolMintHelp@ucpcfl.org 03 What happens if I select “No” for Intent to Return? You do NOT need to complete the rest of the form. No additional action is required from you. This means you are not interested in having your child return to any UCP Campus in school year 2026-2027. 04 What happens if I select “Not Sure”? You must provide the reason for being “Not Sure.” An Enrollment Specialist will contact you to follow up. ⚠️ Keep in mind: a “Not Sure” response does not guarantee your child’s spot. You must communicate your final intent before March 1 to secure enrollment. 05 What if I would like to apply for my child to transfer to another UCP campus? If you are interested in transferring your child to a different UCP Charter School campus, you must submit a new application for the campus you are requesting, even if your child currently attends a UCP school or is graduating from their current campus. Submitting the Intent to Return / Back-to-School form does not guarantee placement at another campus. All transfer requests are subject to availability, eligibility, and the enrollment process of the requested campus. Once your application is submitted, the enrollment team will review it and contact you if space becomes available or if additional steps are needed. 👉 Important reminders: Transfers are not automatic A separate application is required for each campus Placement depends on open seats and program availability If you have questions about the transfer process or need help choosing the right campus, please contact our enrollment team (407) 852-3300 ext. 3351, we’re happy to help guide you through the process. 06 Can I update my Back-to-School forms after I submit them? Yes. Back-to-School forms can be updated in SchoolMint until the final deadline on February 1. After the deadline, updates may be limited and could impact your child’s enrollment or readiness for the start of school. We also strongly recommend reviewing and updating your Back-to-School forms again before school begins in August, especially if any information has changed since February (such as contact information, emergency contacts, medical details, transportation needs, or permissions). Keeping this information current helps us ensure a smooth and safe start to the school year. How to make updates: Log in to your SchoolMint account Select your child’s application Open the Back-to-School forms section Make your updates and save your changes If you need help accessing or updating your forms, please contact the enrollment team — we’re happy to assist. 07 Who can I contact if I have Schoolmint technical issues? For login or form issues, contact our Support Team at SchollMintHelp@ucpcfl.org 08 How will I know if my child’s spot is confirmed? Once your Intent to Return is submitted and approved, you will receive a confirmation email from your campus. 09 Do I need to complete Intent to Return if my child is graduating or leaving UCP? No, if your child is graduating or permanently leaving, you do not need to complete the form. 10 Can I submit Intent to Return for multiple children at once? Each child requires their own submission in SchoolMint. You can complete multiple forms from the same parent account. Need Help?
